Ombusman
Members Have An Ombudsman Available ...
What's An Ombudsman? An independent person who assists members with
complaints, concerns, answers questions, helps members develop relationships
where they may be difficult, works as an intermediary, assists in developing
positive and effective relations with Board personnel, and so forth. The
focus is toward resolving any members' concern(s) or problems effectively
and promptly without concern toward any type of backlash.
What Experiences Contribute To An Effective Ombudsman?
This person must be familiar with officiating, USSF guidelines /
requirements, DASOA operating principles and practices, our leadership, and
subject matter experts, at a minimum.
Confidentiality?
You bet! If the member tells the Ombudsman they desire to protect their
confidentiality for any reason, that's exactly what will happen!
Relationship to the DASOA Board
This position is an appointed, not elected, position on the DASOA Board.
Although appointed, the Ombudsman functions with vast independence.
